Volunteer Opportunities on the Treasure Coast
In general, the gift of time and presence is a scarce commodity in our world today, and for people with special needs, time and presence is even more limited, which accounts for the higher prevalence of isolation and loneliness amongst those with special needs.
Cicily Cares’ quest to find innovative solutions to address the needs led us to the Inspire Volunteer program. Through this program volunteers ages 16 to adulthood, participate in activities that support inclusion in the community, friendship building and provide companionship to combat loneliness and isolation. This is a great teen volunteer opportunity in Port St. Lucie, Stuart, Jupiter and the Palm Beaches.
The Act of Volunteerism is a worthy cause with no cause more worthy than helping those with special needs. Inspire Volunteer welcomes adults with a desire to ‘give back’ to the special needs population, as well as teens looking for volunteer hours to boost their profile as they prepare for college.
We are encourage when teens volunteer to work in the community with this vulnerable group, because these volunteer contributions often lead to successful relationships that is beneficial to all involved. Whatever the reason to volunteer, Cicily Cares believes that volunteers can be a valuable part of care and services that improve the lives of children with special needs.
